In the village
Of the jungle
Lies a body
Cold and dead
For the venom
Of the cobra
Has gone in
The body dead
Rock and hill
A little girl
As she cries

For the snake
Has killed the father

Call the mongoose

The cobra waits

Comes the mongoose
For the battle

Mongoose caught it
In his teeth
